Total damage from Bangladesh floods is Tk 142 billion

74 people died and 64 others were injured in 11 districts, an advisor says

The recent floods in Bangladesh have caused damage worth nearly Tk 142.69 billion, says Disaster Management Advisor Faruk-e-Azam.

At a briefing at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Faruk said: "Seventy-four people have been killed in 11 districts and another 64 have been injured.”

The advisor said that 942,821 people had been affected by the floods and 4,556,111 people took refuge in shelters.
