There will be no opportunities for political gain through the creation of religious conflicts in the future, says ICT Advisor Nahid Islam.

During his visit to a Durga Puja pavilion organised by the Dhanmondi Sarbojanin Puja Uddjapan Committee in Dhaka’s Kalabagan on Friday, Nahid said attempts have been made to derive political benefits through religious conflict at different times.

He added that such actions would not be tolerated moving forward.

The advisor highlighted that efforts have been made to ensure smooth puja celebrations across the country. A day off has been extended, and the highest security measures have been implemented.

The committee's general secretary Biswajit Roy expressed gratitude for the extended holiday and security arrangements.

“Such a level of security has never been seen before,” he said.

Biswajit thanked the interim government on behalf of the Hindu community for these efforts.

Nahid said, “We are working with the dream of a new Bangladesh, where people of all religions and backgrounds will move forward together. The stability of a country depends on its religious harmony. We want to maintain religious harmony in Bangladesh. If this harmony is disrupted, it will impact the entire South Asia.”

“There are attempts to create unrest in many parts of the country, and everyone must remain vigilant,” he added.

Nahid exchanged greetings with devotees at the Puja pavilion during his visit.
