Three of a family shot dead in Cox's Bazar Rohingya camp

A man, his son, and daughter were allegedly shot dead by unidentified attackers early Monday at a Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar. 

The incident occurred around 5 a.m. at Camp 20X in Ukhiya.

The victims were identified as Ahmed Hossain, 65, his son Syedul Amin, 28, and 15-year-old daughter Asma, all residents of Camp-17, Block 104. 

Captain of 14 Armed Police Battalion (APBn) and Additional DIG MD Iqbal confirmed the matter.

According to him, 15-20 unknown assailants stormed the block and opened fire, killing Ahmed and Syedul on the spot. 

Asma, initially wounded, was taken to the camp hospital but died en route to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital.

Police, with the help of APBn personnel, recovered the bodies, which were sent for autopsy. 

Legal proceedings are underway regarding the incident.
