Mahfuj Alam Appointed as New Information Adviser

Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam has been appointed to oversee the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting following the resignation of Md Nahid Islam.

Nahid Islam stepped down from his position as Information Adviser yesterday to lead a new political party formed by the leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus entrusted Mahfuj Alam with the role, and the Cabinet Division issued an official notification confirming the appointment on Wednesday.

Mahfuj Alam, a seasoned journalist and media strategist, has an extensive background in public communication and policy advisory roles. Before this appointment, he served in key positions in government media management, contributing to media reforms and strategic communication initiatives. His expertise in information policy and press relations is expected to bring stability and direction to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
