BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, has accused both domestic and foreign forces of orchestrating conspiracies against the party, urging its leaders and activists to stay vigilant amid ongoing challenges.
Speaking at a workshop on state structure reforms and public engagement training in Jhenaidah City on Wednesday, Tarique cautioned that various groups were actively spreading propaganda against BNP.
"Conspiracies are underway both inside and outside the country. Everyone must stay vigilant. BNP cannot be suppressed through conspiracies because it is a people's party", he said.
The workshop, held at the Johan Dream Valley Park auditorium, was part of BNP's efforts to reform the state structure and engage with the public.
Tarique emphasised the need for the party to rebuild trust among the people, saying the government of "autocrat Hasina" has ruined the country's several sectors, presenting a challenge for the next administration.
BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, has urged all political parties involved in the anti-fascism movement to stand united, emphasizing that unity is key to preventing the return of authoritarian rule.
"If we stay united, fascism will not return to the country," he asserted.
Speaking at a workshop on state structure reforms and public engagement training in Jhenaidah city on Wednesday, Tarique reiterated his commitment to honoring the martyrs and victims of the July Uprising.
"Those who sacrificed their lives in the movement will receive state honors. Their families will be supported—both by the party now and, once in power, by the state," he pledged.
He further vowed to rename public buildings after the martyrs in their respective regions as a lasting tribute to their sacrifices.
"During the war, some parties crossed the border for luxury, while others actively opposed our fight for independence. Patriotism is part of our faith, and defending people’s rights is an essential duty," he stated.
The first session focused on training participants on BNP’s 31-point state structure reform agenda and strategies for public engagement.
Tarique joined the event virtually at 4:00 PM, addressing attendees’ questions and discussing the party’s future direction.
