'Amra BNP Paribar' delegation meets martyrs' families in Narsingdi

A delegation representing the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the families of several martyrs from the July-August student-people uprising in Narsingdi district today.

Led by Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Chief Adviser of "Amra BNP Paribar" and BNP Senior Secretary General, the delegation extended condolences and provided financial assistance to the bereaved families.

The delegation first visited the home of Zunaid Al Habib, who was killed by members of the Chhatra League, the student organization affiliated with the ruling Awami League, at 11 a.m. today. Zunaid sustained critical injuries during an attack on September 18 and succumbed to his wounds on October 7 after a nine-day struggle for life. He was a local coordinator of the anti-discrimination student-people movement and an activist of Chhatra Dal in Morjal Union.

The delegation also met the families of martyrs Rahat, Hasan, and Rustom near the BNP office in Morjal Union, Raipur Upazila, Narsingdi district, conveying Tarique Rahman's sympathy to them.

Among those present were BNP Joint General Secretary and Narsingdi District BNP Convenor Khairul Kabir Khokon, Amra BNP Paribar Adviser Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul, Narsingdi District BNP Secretary General Monjur Elahi, and Amra BNP Paribar Convenor Journalist Atikur Rahman Rumon.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited the family of 15-year-old martyr Tahmid Tamim in Chinishpur, Narsingdi Sadar Upazila, and offered prayers at the grave of another martyr, Siam, who lost his life in the student-people movement in Shibpur, Narsingdi district.

Additional attendees included Moulavibazar BNP Adviser and Qatar BNP Secretary General Shariful Haque Saju, "Amra BNP Paribar" members Masud Rana Liton, Mustakim Billah, Farhad Ali Sajib, Shahadat Hossain, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal central vice-president Habibul Basher, Joint General Secretaries Hasnain Nahian Sajib and Hasanur Rahman, Chhatra Dal leaders Shariful Islam, Moshiur Rahman Mohan, and Misbah, as well as Narsingdi District Juba Dal President Mohsin Hossain Bidyut, Narsingdi District Chhatra Dal President Siddiqur Rahman Nahid, and former Chhatra Dal General Secretary Abdur Rouf Roni.
