Donation Cheques Distributed to 122 Injured in July-August Uprising

The victims are provided with Tk 1 million each by July Martyrs Memorial Foundation

The government has extended financial assistance to an additional 122 individuals injured during the July-August mass uprising.

On Sunday, ICT Advisor Nahid Islam distributed donation cheques on behalf of the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation to those receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, as stated in a press release from the information ministry.

Each recipient received Tk 100,000, totalling Tk 12.264 million in disbursements.

Of the 30 individuals currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, 23 were handed their cheques directly, while payments for the remaining seven were processed via mobile banking due to incomplete identification details.

n addition, 33 individuals at the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital and 59 at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation Institute, also known as Pongu Hospital, also received their donations via mobile banking.

Nahid said, "The July Martyrs Memorial Foundation is committed to providing financial assistance to the injured and the families of those who lost their lives during the movement. The initiative is ongoing."

He mentioned that arrangements would be made for the injured regarding medical treatment abroad, based on the advice of the relevant doctors.

Later, the foundation's Secretary Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho provided an update on the financial assistance distributed so far.

He said the foundation has distributed Tk 17.14 million in donations to 176 injured individuals.
