BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi stated on Monday that the BNP does not condone vandalism or arson against any individual’s office or home.

He warned that those involved in such acts, regardless of their political affiliations, will face consequences.

“Criminals will not be spared, even if they are BNP leaders or activists,” he asserted adding, “If any party or political activist commits a crime, they should be held accountable under existing laws.”

Rizvi further clarified, “The BNP does not endorse acts of vandalism or arson, nor do we support the harassment of innocent individuals.”

He made these comments while visiting the home of widow Asma in Nagarkanda upazila, Faridpur district, following an instruction from Tarique Rahman, the BNP's acting chairperson, to address the situation promptly.

Reiterating the party's commitment to peaceful coexistence, Rizvi condemned recent incidents of arson and vandalism attributed to a political party in Dhaka and Khulna, stating, “We strongly denounce these actions.”

During his visit, Rizvi also extended financial support to Asma on behalf of the BNP.
